Clear, coloured and even mirrored splashbacks are a great way to protect walls from grease and moisture. And their decorative look will help to bring your vision to life. Splashbacks are most commonly used in kitchens and bathrooms.
Please note that if you require a clear splashback, the application will require the use of screws (holes) as this must be separated from the walls. The conventional use of glue is not advised. With a clear surface you would be able to see the glue through the glass due to its transparent nature. Behind clear splashbacks, therefore, it is possible for moisture and grease to build up. So this may require disassembly in order to clean from time to time.
Splashbacks are low iron glass (extra clear) and are a of a high quality, which has been specially processed, while also allowing for an optional colour treatment.
NOTE: Although painted splashbacks tend to be more expensive than clear, it doesn’t mean you can order a clear piece and paint it yourself! The paint that is used is specially processed and treated. This is to give a non-streaky, clearer finish, which allows the fixing glue to be applied behind. This is difficult to achieve if self painted.
There are no standard sizes for kitchen and bathroom splashback, meaning they are all made to measure products.
Hardboard templates are essential to ensure accuracy when shapes or cut-outs are involved (e.g. around plug sockets). Based on your requests, radius or polished edges can be added. Due to the cut-out process, no holes can be cornered at 90-degree angles and are therefore so are radius (rounded).
Toughened glass is essential behind cookers due to the intense heat that may occur.
Paint matches can be made from the following brands: RAL Colours, British Standard, Federal Standard, Dulux, Farrow & Ball, Paint and Paper, Fired Earth and Crown. Glitter options are available, making the options endless! The mixing process is highly accurate and if we can find the code on our system then we can mix the colour to the tolerance that the paint manufacture allows.
It is not a guarantee that each batch will be identical as the tolerance is similar to how the colour from a tin of paint may vary from a swatch. Please note that there may be a difference between batch orders, which may cause discrepancies between orders placed at different times.
We have a number of samples available for you to see. If you wish to try out a sample of which we don’t have, you can request a sample to be mixed and ordered. This will be at an additional charge of £12.00 per sample.
